Thank you all so much for your sweet comments and messages. ❤️ We’re still adjusting to a new normal around here but we know it was the right decision for Archimedes and that helps us feel more at peace. Lots of love and healing snuggles going on around here. And if you’ve ever met my cat you know that she is not terribly affectionate...but she seems to understand that Gambit needs a little extra love and care right now. For the last two days she’s allowed him to snuggle close and I am grateful that they have each other. ❤️❤️❤️

💔 Three days ago we were thrilled to celebrate that Archimedes had made it to eleven years with our family despite 3.5 years of kidney disease and increasing mobility issues but sadly this morning we helped him cross the Rainbow Bridge to be reunited with his beloved Merlin. When he came to us as a six year-old foster dog he was neurotic, scared of men, and likely suffering from past abuse. He immediately bonded strongly with Merlin and we were not far behind. He and Merlin really brought the best out in each other and they also gave the other confidence and strength they both desperately needed. And we didn’t know it at the time but Archimedes was just who we needed to make our original herd complete. Over the last 11 years we watched him grow into a happy, self-assured, playful dog who loved us, loved Merlin, and even loved Gambit and Rogue. He also took quickly to accompanying me to lessons in Bridgewater and Winchester and enjoyed meeting all of my students and playing with the younger ones. He was the spitfire to Merlin’s distinguished gentleman and was always happy to spin and bark and play. And despite initially being afraid of the odd sounds emanating from my craft room (the Cricut really freaked him out) the last few years he’s gravitated towards hanging out in my craft room...always close to my feet and always where he could keep an eye on me. Today at the vet I noticed a little piece of glitter on his nose undoubtedly picked up from his craft room adventures. ✨ Even as he slowed down the last few years he still took it upon himself to train Gambit in the ways of being one of our shelties...he taught him that when we make breakfast for dinner there’s always a bite for the herd and taught him how to snuggle and that when you sleep in bed you always turn sideways to take up the most room. Oh, and that it’s ok to let your tongue hang out a bit when you’re fast asleep. We will miss him so SO much (our house feels very empty) but we know that the moment he left his body here he was happily running and playing with Merlin. Be free sweet boy and we’ll see you again someday. 🌈 #sheltiesofinstagram #sheltie #shetlandsheepdog

🖤💛🖤 So today for #thedailymarker30day I backed way off the cheery and vibrant colors but I kinda love the result! I used only two drops of pitch black and a little statue alloy ink to achieve this effect on tile! Amusingly enough, the tiny separations are usually not wanted (it’s a result of humidity conditions) but I like it here and I can’t wait to see it with a resin coat! 😉 ••• #alcoholink #alcoholinks #alcoholinkartist @tim_holtz @ranger_ink

Ok, today is definitely my least favorite day of March Meet the Maker because I do not enjoy putting myself on camera. 🤷🏻‍♀️ In fact you can swipe to see the photo I almost used but I decided to be brave 😂 and put myself in front. But here I am! 35, short, fluffy, with more grey hairs than I’d like, and still not a fan of smiling and showing teeth! ☺️🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Nice to meet you! ❤️

•day 6: reducing waste• #marchmeetthemaker ••• I really like this prompt and have enjoyed reading other posts today discussing ways of reducing waste in various art forms! One of my initial concerns with starting resin work was all the seemingly unavoidable trash. Throwing away mixing cups, throwing away mixing sticks, paper towels, etc, etc...it didn’t seem to be a very sustainable earth-friendly craft. But I’ve discovered that you can peel hardened resin from paint mixing cups to reuse again (and let’s be real, peeling that resin out is actually a lot of fun...it’s like the grown up version of peeling dried glue off your palms) 😂 and you can also use silicone tools for mixing, applying, and spreading resin. And again, after the resin cures you can easily peel it off and reuse the tools again! It’s little things but over time all those plastic solo cups, paper towels, and paint mixing sticks I was using would really start to add up! 😳 Do you have any fun sustainable tips and tricks for alcohol ink or resin work? ••• #allthesparklemtm #resinart #sustainabilitymatters
