Hero Arts September My Monthly Hero Blog Hop (+ Giveaway)

6 Sep

Good afternoon!  Today is the release day for the Hero Arts September 2016 My Monthly Hero and I am so honored and excited to be celebrating the release with the Hero Arts Creative team and other special guests!  You should have arrived from Lydia Fiedler’s blog but if not, you can head to the Hero Arts blog to start at the beginning!  The new kit is now available for purchase at Hero Arts and once they’re sold out, they’re gone for good so make sure to head over and shop soon!  I love the versatility of the kit…I focused on autumn cards but you’re going to see everything from Halloween to Christmas with this hop!

So here are the details…the kit contains:

  • A set of three Fancy Dies designed for building your own wreath
  • A 4×6 clear stamp set (featuring the hand-lettering of Clare Prezzia!!)
  • Ten coordinating Frame Cuts dies
  • Three ink cubes in Mustard, Rust and Deep Burgundy
  • Six half sheets of cardstock in Kraft, Sunset Orange and Metallic Copper
  • Custom Freckled Fawn Enamel Dots in red
  • Brown gems
  • Brown and Natural Jute twines

There are also three optional add-on items (told you it was versatile!!):
  • DC197 Halloween Trimmings Stamp & Cut (https://heroarts.com/shop-sidebar/dc197-halloween-trimmings-stamp-cut)
  • DC195 Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut (https://heroarts.com/shop-sidebar/dc195-christmas-trimmings-stamp-cut)
  • DI327 Branch Wreath Fancy Die (D) (https://heroarts.com/shop-sidebar/di327-branch-wreath-fancy-die-d)

Don’t forget to check out the bottom of my post for details on how to win a kit!

Here’s what I created:

To create this card I started by blending alcohol inks onto a piece of yupo paper.  Then I die-cut the leaves with the dies from the kit.  I also die-cut the wreaths with gold glitter paper and the metallic copper paper from the kit.  Finally I die-cut the pinecones using the kraft paper from the kit and used a stylus to pop out the dimensional pieces of the die.  I layered them to create a fall wreath and adhered them together.  Then I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of watercolor paper and heat-embossed it with copper embossing powder.  I used watercolor paper for a textured card base that was off-white and fit the autumn theme a little better.

And here’s my second card:

For my second card I traced a circle onto a piece of white cardstock and then I stamped the leaves around the circle using the rock-and-roll technique on some of the leaves.  Once I was happy with the arrangement of leaves I die-cut the circle with a stitched die.  Next I trimmed the sides of the white cardstock down by an 1/8 of an inch.  I stamped the sentiment on dark red cardstock and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder.  I layered the white cardstock over the red with foam mounting tape and then added a few sequins under and around the circle.

I can’t wait to make Christmas cards with this set…and I’m already brainstorming how to use it for spring and summer cards as well! 😉

giveaway

To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win!  If you win and have already purchased the kit you will be reimbursed!  Here’s a list of all the stops on the hop:

Wow, your first card just blew me away. The card design was simple but when you added the leaves in those vibrant fall colors, the card just just popped.

I love the autumn feel of this kit and how the wreath can be changed up to look Christmasy. So versatile!

I tried to order this several times yesterday and today. But each time I was interrupted and didn’t complete my order. And now…it’s sold out 🙁
