Simon Says Stamp DieCember Blog Hop (+GIVEAWAY!)

9 Dec

Busy day on the blog with lots of giveaways!!  For the Deck the Halls with Inky Paws blog hop with Newton’s Nook Designs please click here!  For the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop please click here!  For the Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge post please click here!

Good morning!  I’m super excited to be joining some truly wonderful ladies to celebrate Simon Says Stamp’s DieCember!  And every stop on the hop is a chance to win a $25 gift card!  Simon Says Stamp just released 22 fabulous dies and there’s something for everyone’s design aesthetic: from cute to elegant, functional to fun!  Today I focused on my favorites, the nature-inspired dies!

I love the look of this Birch Column die and how it cuts through the bottom and top of your card panel but is one solid piece.  I wanted to let that be the focus of my card so I die-cut it with white cardstock and adhered it over a distress inked background.  I used picked raspberry, spun sugar, shaded lilac, and blueprint sketch distress ink for the background and spritzed it with shimmer spray.  Then I die-cut the sentiment from silver glitter paper and adhered it over my card panel.  Finally I added a sprinkling of sparkling clear sequins for a little extra shimmer!

My next card uses the Circle Leaves die and a much more monochromatic color scheme!

I die-cut the Circle Leaves from silver glitter paper and trimmed it out of the circle.  Then I die-cut it again from black cardstock and adhered the silver behind it slightly offset before adding a dark grey base.  I also-die cut the sentiment from silver glitter paper and again from the black cardstock panel.  I adhered the black cardstock to a white card base and then inlaid the silver glitter paper into the black cardstock for a smooth finish!

I hope you enjoyed my cards and that they inspired you to create cards with no stamping! 😉

Love that elegance & simplicity of the circle leaves with the simple sentiment. I could make a zillion of those and not get tired of it!
