Tonic Studios Garden Party Release (+GIVEAWAYS!)

9 Aug

Good morning!  I am excited to help celebrate the new Garden Party release from Tonic Studios!  You might know Tonic mainly for their fabulous embellishments and amazing tools but now they’re adding gorgeous stamps to their line!!  I’ve been head over heels for my alcohol inks recently so I decided to go in a slightly different direction today with these pretty stamps!

Alcohol Ink Coaster by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Tonic Studios

I started by applying copic refills to a simple white tile you can find at any hardware store.  I used isopropyl alcohol to move the ink around and puffed it with a camera air puffer!  I kept the ink to a corner and left a lot of white space for a more clean and simple design.  I also applied gold glitter paint to the edges of the tile for a finished edge.

I let it sit for a few hours until it was the ink was totally dry to the touch.  Then I lightly applied powder from my powder tool to remove any residual stickiness from the ink.  Then I inked up that big gorgeous floral arrangement from Botanical Burst with clearmark embossing ink and stamped it carefully onto the alcohol inked portion.  You want to be careful because the ink can be very slippery on the tile and it’s easy for your hand to slip and smudge the ink.  After I stamped it I heat-embossed the tile with Gold Enchantment glitter embossing powder.  Then I used a stiff paintbrush to buff away any leftover powder from my powder tool. I ran out of time (and good outdoor weather) to finish my tile but I’ll be sealing it and adding resin soon to create a beautiful heat-safe coaster for my craft room! 😉

To celebrate the Garden Party release, Tonic Studios is giving away a £25 gift voucher to EVERY stop in the hop!!  Winners will be chosen from the comment section and announced on the Tonic Blog on Wednesday, August 13th, 2019!  You should have arrived from Yana and Bibi is your next stop!  And don’t forget to check out day 2 of the hop starting tomorrow!  And in case you encounter a broken link here is the full hop list:

I’m SOOO afraid to emboss on my alcohol backgrounds. I had tried when I first started with alcohol inks and totally melted my beautiful background. I suppose it’s time to try again. Especially after seeing this amazingly beautiful creation of yours!

What a wonderful idea!! I had bought some white tiles to do something else but nothing came of it. (You know how that goes). This is an excellent way to use my inks and I know I will buy that beautiful stamp!! I am so glad that Tonic decided to add stamps to their other fine products!!
