Wishing You Both the Best!

11 May

Good morning!  I finally had a little free time to do some ‘just for fun’ crafting and I was able to play with this pretty Sketch Ranunculus stamp set from Simon Says Stamp that was designed by Yoonsun Hur!  I am a huge fan of Yoonsun’s work and was excited to get my hands on this set after seeing all of the gorgeous samples she created!  I also decided to enter Anna Kossakovskaya’s CASometry Challenge 2 using this set to create (at least) five cards!

This set is quite popular right now and I’ve seen lots of beautiful cards using a variety of pretty spring and summer colors so I wanted to go a slightly different route:

I started by stamping the flowers onto black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossing them with gold tinsel embossing powder.  Then I used my ScanNCut to cut out each of the shapes with a slight border.  Next I did a soft ombre wash of black soot distress ink across the top of a piece of watercolor paper and let it dry overnight.  Once it was dry I flicked Daniel Smith quinacridone coral watercolor and Hero Arts gold shimmer spray across the card panel.

Next I stamped part of the sentiment onto the card panel with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I adhered stick-it adhesive to the back of a scrap piece of white cardstock and die-cut the ‘wishing’ word.  I pressed the front of the die-cut into versamark and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder.  I peeled the backing off the stick-it and adhered the glittery gold word to the card.  Then it was time to arrange my bouquet!  I placed my flowers across the top of the card and adhered them with regular adhesive and foam mounting tape.  To finish my card I added medallion gold sequins for a little extra sparkle!

I really like how it turned out…it’s definitely not my normal pink and coral floral card but I love the black and gold with just a tiny hint of pink! 🙂  You’ll definitely see some normal colors in some of my next CASometry cards! 😉

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Emboss It, the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge: Mother’s Day/Flowers, and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Flowers!  Thanks so much for visiting and have a fantastic day!
