Christmas Card Challenges #36: Anything Goes

9 Aug

Good afternoon!  If you’re looking for my crafty destash sale please click here!

It’s time for another Anything Goes week at Christmas Card Challenges!  The only rule is that you create a holiday card!  Here’s mine:

Recently I’ve been clearing out some of my older stamp sets and re-discovering some new to me stamps and dies that I’ve owned for months but never used.  I realized that I’ve owned that gift die set but never used it so I decided to use it this week!  I started off by die-cutting the presents with gold glitter and red cardstock and then set them aside while I worked on the rest of the card.  I took an A2 white card base and masked off the bottom inch of the panel.  Next I treated the rest of the panel with my powder tool before stamping it with the diagonal lines background stamp in versamark.  Then I heat-set it with WOW holographic embossing powder.  Once the powder was set I peeled off the post-it tape to reveal the white bottom border.  I stamped the sentiment with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder.  Next I used a glue pen to apply adhesive to the back of the gold glitter outline before attaching it to the front of the card.  Once it was set I inlaid the red cardstock pieces inside the gold glitter outline.  To adhere the red pieces I alternated between using a glue pen and foam mounting tape for a little change in dimension!

I hope you’ll play along this week!  To get your creative juice flowing, don’t forget to visit the rest of the design team!

Beautiful card, Jess. I love the simplicity of it combined with the elegance of the gold and red. Just beautiful.I’d love to get that die. It could also be used as a birthday card with different color packages. Thanks.

Love, love, love your Christmas card Jess. I would love to find that die and make a few of these myself. What is the exact name of the gift die used?

What a fabulous CAS card Jess. I love the embossed stripe background and how you masked off the bottom strip – great design work!
