Good afternoon and happy Monday!! Today we’re kicking off Ellen Hutson’s Summer of Stamping with an absolutely adorable exclusive collaboration set from Avery Elle: Soak it Up!
Soak it Up is available as a stamp and die combo or as a stand alone stamp set and it’s definitely worth adding to your crafty stash! I paired it with one of my favorite dies, Abstract Sunset, from the last Ellen Hutson release to create a fun ocean scene! I love that the die can be used to create landscapes, sunrises, sunsets, or ocean scenes like this one!
To start I die-cut the Abstract Sunset die from strathmore bristol smooth cardstock. I blended tattered rose, picked raspberry, and abandoned coral onto the largest part to create a sunrise. Then I blended (from the top down) blueprint sketch, mermaid lagoon, salty ocean, and salvaged patina. I also die-cut sparkly glitter cardstock for two of the pieces. Then I adhered them to a top folding white card base.
Next I stamped the adorable swimming cat, four paws, sentiment, beach ball, and that fantastic unicorn float with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored them with copic markers and die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I adhered them to the background with a mix of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape. Then it was time for sparkles! I added white gel pen accents and sparkles to the ball and float with spectrum noir clear sparkle. Then I added nuvo crystal glaze to the ball, mane, and tail and sprinkled them with chunky and prisma glitter. Finally I added a little extra nuvo crystal glaze over the sunglasses and horn to make them extra shiny!
And that’s it! Head over to my instagram and hop along with us for a chance to win a $25 gift card to Ellen Hutson! Thanks so much for stopping by today and we’ll have lots more Summer of Stamping to share with you all month long!!
