Hero Arts May My Monthly Hero Blog Hop (+GIVEAWAY!)

4 May

Good afternoon!  It’s the first Monday of the month which means it’s release time for the May My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts!!  This fantastic kit is now available for purchase at Hero Arts; and remember, once they’re sold out, they’re gone for good so make sure to head over and shop soon!

The May kit contains:

  • 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set
  • 7 Coordinating Frame Cuts
  • 7 Envelope Art Icon Fancy Dies
  • 3 Karin DécoBrush Metallic Markers (Gold, Pink & Blue)
  • 5 White A7 Envelopes
  • 5 White A2 Envelopes

This kit is valued at $80 and is a steal at $34.99!

And there are several fun add-on sets available:

Sun Background Stencil
[ HA ]
Cloudy Sky Scene Dies
[ HA ]
US Mailbox Fancy Die
[ HA ]
Airplane Fancy Die
[ HA ]
Paper Layering Window Shutters
[ HA ]
May Word Fancy Die
[ HA ]
Heart Tree Stamp & Cut
[ HA ]
One Thing at a Time Stamp & Cut
[ HA ]

I shared this card on the Hero Arts blog yesterday:

And today I’m sharing a card using several of the cheerful add-ons!

Sending You Love by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Hero Arts

To start I placed the Sun Background Stencil over an A2 panel of Hero Hues Canary cardstock and blending Creamsicle Reactive ink over the stencil.  I added a little Fruit Punch Reactive ink to the center of the stencil and then removed the stencil.  I blended a little Lemon Drop Reactive ink over the entire panel to soften the stencil edges.  Then I set that aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.

Sending You Love by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Hero Arts

Next I die-cut the Airplane Fancy die and envelopes from US Mailbox Fancy die and colored them with copic markers.  I also die-cut hearts from the Heart Tree Stamp & Cut and colored them with copic markers.  I added a few to the back of the envelopes and saved the rest for the card.  I stamped a sentiment from the kit onto a piece of Pitch Black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.  I trimmed it down to a banner and tied it to the airplane with a little natural twine.  I die-cut clouds from the Cloudy Sky Scene die set with white cardstock and vellum and adhered it around my stenciled panel.  Then I added my airplane with foam mounting tape.  I used my finger to carefully curve the sentiment to give it a little dimension and then adhered it to the panel.  Finally I added my cascading envelopes and hearts to finish the card!

And that’s it!  Head over and pick up your My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons today!  And just a quick note: Due to the current health crisis, this month we will start shipping our kits and add-ons on May 15th.  Aaron and his family are working hard to ship your kits all by themselves and we appreciate your patience!!

To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away a $50 gift card as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win!  Please comment before 11:59PM EST on Sunday, May 10th!  You should have arrived from Jen and Jill is your next stop!

Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the hop!!

I love both cards, but I especially like how the addition of the falling envelopes and hearts perfectly illustrate the “sending love” sentiment. Also, shaping the banner and the tiny twine bow are wonderful textural elements, much like the added glitter and gloss used on the hot air balloon does the same for the card you made yesterday. Those little details really add so much.

I was very inspired by your countdown card (and the others) and had to order that glitter! I’m now patiently awaiting arrival of the kit and some add-ons. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve enjoyed seeing many of the wonderful Hero Arts projects posted, but if I’m allowed to have a favorite so far using the kit contents, it might be your airplane design! The reason I know is because the colors are not the ones I typically gravitate to, but it’s stunning and really gives a sense of space and motion!

Love both your cards, the first one for it’s simplicity and beauty and the second one for the envelopes falling out of the plane – just so sweet. Thanks for sharing. Love this new kit – makes me smile and at this time, we all need smiles.
