Lil’ Inker Designs: August Release – Day 1 (+GIVEAWAY!)

1 Aug

Good morning and welcome to the August 2017 release for Lil’ Inker Designs!  We’re introducing a bunch of gorgeous stamps and dies and they’re all available right now!  I love that Laura doesn’t make you wait to shop the new release so I totally understand if you want to go shop now, but make sure you come back and comment for a chance to win the entire August release!  That’s correct…one lucky commenter will win everything!  There’s more details on how to win at the end of my post!  Today I’m sharing two cards I created for this release!

Both of my cards today use the GORGEOUS florals from Encouraging Words and a similar palette with different mediums!!

Most Favorite Person Ever by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Lil' Inker Designs

I started by stamping the largest flowers and foliage from Encouraging Words onto a piece of watercolor paper with versamark and then heat-embossed them with white embossing powder.  Then I filled in the empty spaces with the smaller elements until I had a floral pattern across the entire paper.  Next I wet the paper liberally and then watercolored it with aged mahogany, worn lipstick, and chipped sapphire distress ink.  I also used a gold watercolor paint from my Finetec palette to add a little shimmer.  Once it dried I added a light wash of chipped sapphire to the background and let it dry.  Finally I added splatters of distress ink and gold watercolor.

While that was drying I stamped the sentiment from Ever onto dark maroon cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.  I trimmed it down to a fishtail banner and added the rest of the sentiment die-cut from the Ever dies with gold glitter cardstock.  I adhered the banner to the card with regular ATG adhesive and then used foam mounting tape to adhere the glitter cardstock.

My second card is a sort of a play on the first card!  I stamped the florals from Encouraging Words using dye inks that resembled the color palette of my first card.  Again I started with the largest elements and then filled in with the smaller elements.  I stamped the sentiment with dark navy blue ink and added white dots of varying sizes with tonic nuvo crystal drops in gloss white.

And that’s it for day 1!  I’ll be back tomorrow with more! 😉

You should have arrived from Jennifer and Karen is your next stop.  If you get lost you can find the full hop list below!  Leave a comment on each stop along the hop and one lucky commenter will win the entire August release!  Good luck!

Happy hopping!!
