Lawnscaping Challenge #133 – Mood Board Inspired

4 Jul

This is my second post for today!  For my Christmas in July video series and giveaway please scroll down or click here!

Psst!  Ellen Hutson is having a one day sale on all in-stock items!  Head over and save 20% off your order by entering “redwhiteblue” in checkout!  Happy shopping!!

Challenge #133, sponsored by Ellen Hutson, is to create something inspired by our mood board!  One lucky winner will win a $25 gift certificate to Ellen Hutson!

Here’s my card:

I’ll admit, I definitely struggled with this mood board.  I LOVE teal but I am not a yellow person so I really had to think about what to do that all that yellow!  But recently I’ve started making breakfast smoothies with bananas and pineapples and realized that my smoothies were the perfect color to match the mood board!  So I stamped some bananas and cocktail glasses from Lawn Fawn’s So Smooth, cut them out with my ScanNCut, and colored them with copic markers.  I added a little accent with a white gel pen and then covered the glasses with glossy accents.

Next I used my clarity stencil brush to brush Mermaid Lagoon distress ink over a piece of white cardstock and die-cut it with a stitched rectangle.  I stamped the sentiment from Let’s Bokeh with versafine and then heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder before die-cutting it with a stitched fishtail die.  I layered all the elements over a piece of yellow and white polka dot patterned paper from the 6×6″ Let’s Polka – In the Meadow paper pad.  I also added a teal and grey striped twine bow under the sentiment.  I used a mixture of foam tape and regular ATG gun adhesive to adhere everything to the patterned paper and finished it with a sprinkling of Sparkling Clear sequins!

Thanks so much for visiting!  For more information on how to join the challenge and additional inspiration from the rest of the design team check out the Lawnscaping blog!

Soooo perfect for this mood board. Yellow, being my favorite color, attracts me like a butterfly so I’m very partial to this card.

So cute! And you sure can’t tell you’re “yellow challenged”. (I’m green challenged, myself.) You gotta love fruity, frosty beverages with tiny umbrellas AND sunglasses! Love it!
