Here’s what I created:

Hello Sweet Pea by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Hero Arts

I decided to play with the pretty watercolor paper in the kit for my hop card!  I started by tearing one of the 5″x7″ sheets by hand to expose the rough edge.  Then I stamped the sweet pea with versafine ink and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I watercolored the flowers using the Hero Arts Daniel Smith palette and then added an ombre wash of purple watercolor paint across the paper.

Hello Sweet Pea by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Hero Arts

I set that aside to dry while I worked on the simple background.  I stamped the sentiment onto Lilac Layering Paper with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I trimmed the panel down to 4″ by 5.25″ and adhered it to a Snow folded card!  Simple but the rough paper really adds a beautiful textured effect!

To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win!  If you win and have already purchased the kit you will be reimbursed!  Here’s a list of all the stops on the hop:

The sweat Peas are lovely an I like how you tore a smaller piece of watercolor paper and accented it with the lilac color. It is aways great to see wonderful new ideas and how each and every of you take these sets from the monthly release and make them unique in so many different ways! Thank you!

I love the technique of tearing the paper. I notice that you embossed after you tore, so that some embossing ends up on the torn edge. I never thought of that and I really like it! Thank you
