Muse: Christmas Visions Guest Designer

5 Jul

Good morning!  I am excited to share that I am the July muse for Muse: Christmas Visions Christmas Card Club!  Ardyth reached out to me last year during my Christmas in July series and asked me if I’d be interested in guesting.  My husband and I recently made the decision to reshuffle some of the rooms in our home (my craft room included) so while I’m still not quite sure what I intend to do for this year’s Christmas in July (hopefully I’ll get myself together in a few days!) I am ready to share my card for Muse: Christmas Visions! 🙂  And make sure to check out the bottom of my post to find out how you can join in the fun over at Muse: Christmas Visions to win one of two great crafty Christmas gifts!! 😉

Believe in the Magic of Christmas by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Simon Says Stamp

Today’s card is one of those cards that’s just hard to photograph…either I can capture all the glittery gold goodness but lose the shading of the images or capture the shading and lose all the glitteriness.  But trust me when I say this card is ridiculously sparkly!

I decided to go with a pink, red, navy, and gold palette for a slightly untraditional Christmas look!  I stamped the Winter Flowers from Simon Says Stamp in light pink ink on linen cardstock and then colored them with copics.  Once the coloring was finished I restamped the images with versamark and heat-embossed them with gold tinsel embossing powder.  I also stamped the large poinsettia-ish flower on cardstock and colored it twice.  I die-cut them and attached one over my background panel with foam mounting tape.  Then I fussy cut a few petals from the other flower and attached those over the solid flower with foam mounting tape for even more dimension.

I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a soft navy card base.  Then I stamped part of the sentiment onto my background panel with soft navy ink.  I die-cut the ‘believe’ word, pressed a versamark pad over it, and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder before adhering it to the panel.  Finally I added a few metallic gold sequins to finish the card!

It’s a little unconventional but I really like the way the colors work together and I hope it gives you some inspiration for this month’s Muse: Christmas Visions Christmas Card Club!! 🙂

To celebrate Christmas in July Ardyth and I have two fun crafty giveaways!  The winners will be randomly picked from the participants who link up Christmas cards throughout the month of July over at Muse: Christmas Visions!  Ardyth is giving away two inks from Catherine Pooler’s collection: Rockin’ Red and Grass Skirt and I am giving away a goodie bag with a Christmasy stamp set, die set, and other goodies! 😉 I can’t wait to see how my card inspires you and what you’ll create this month!

Thanks so much for visiting and have a fabulous day!

So happy to see you guest musing at MCV this month. I have already admired your beautiful card at the MCV blog. Your card also reminded me that I have yet to use this wonderful stamp set.
