I shared this bright and cheery card on the Hero Arts blog this weekend:

Hero Arts March My Monthly Hero Kit by Jessica Frost-Ballas

And today I’m sharing a card mixing some older Hero Arts sets to try and create a more traditional cherry blossom scene!

I also have a video for this card that you can watch below or over at my Youtube channel:

To start I inked mountains from the July 2019 My Monthly Hero kit (that are now available as the Color Layering Mountains at the Lake set) with Soft Granite and Charcoal ink.  I used a baby wipe to blot some of the ink off the bottom of the stamp before stamping it on my A2 panel.  Then I blended Soft Granite and Charcoal ink over the panel to blend in the bottom of the mountains.  I dried the ink with my heat gun and then stamped the top layer of the mountains with Unicorn White Pigment ink and Embossing ink.  On the Embossing ink I carefully sprinkled white embossing powder and heat-embossed it for a little variation in texture.

Next I blended Cotton Candy and Rose Madder ink across the top of the panel blending it down to the grey mountains.  Then I stamped the bottom layer of the blossoms with Cotton Candy Ink and the top layer with Rose Madder and Red Royal ink.  I stamped the loose blossoms with Cotton Candy and Rose Madder ink and finished it with a sentiment stamped in Intense-ified Black ink!  I love the traditional paintings of Mount Fuji in the distance with a blossoming cherry tree in the foreground and thought this would be a good way to recreate that feel! 🙂

And that’s it!  Head over and pick up your My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons today!  And just a quick note: Due to some supplier delays, this month we will start shipping our kits and add-ons on March 16..  We know you are excited to get your kit and we will work to ship earlier if possible. Thank you for your wonderful patronage and patience.

To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away a $50 gift card as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win!  Please comment before 11:59PM EST on Sunday, March 8th!  You should have arrived from Michelle and Caly is your next stop!

Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the hop!!

This card looks great, the idea of combining stamps is so cool. You did a great job with the mountains but grounding them by removing the bottom. Love this card

Very dramatic card with an incredible difference for what is usually showcased. I actually felt this card to be angry. There are times you may need to make a strong statement and this card really does. Beautifully dramatic.
