No-Line Copic Coloring

30 Jun

Good morning!  I can’t believe today is the last day of June!?!  Where did the month go?!  It’s been a little crazy around here the past few days…if you follow me on IG you know that my husband had a bicycle accident and fractured his wrist in two places and his elbow.  So he has a cast for two months and a sling for at least two weeks.  And it’s crazy just how much we take for granted when it comes to having two functional hands.  So it’s definitely taken a little adjusting to figure out what our new routines and new normal will be for the next few months but we’re getting there slowly.

In the meantime I’m still finding time to get into my craftroom (who needs sleep! 😉 ) and I’m excited to share today’s card!  I shared my attempts at no-line coloring with this pretty Simon Says Stamp Sketch Lotus set as part of The Daily Marker 30 Day coloring challenge a few days ago.

And here’s my finished card using that coloring:

Hey by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Simon Says Stamp

First off there’s a little difference in my coloring…I actually went back in with some of my darker greens to give the flowers a little more depth.  Then I die-cut the Hey die from The Stamp Market and colored it with the same pink copic markers I used on the flowers.  I blended the colors together smoothly and then added a layer of spectrum noir clear sparkle!

Next I placed the Mesh stencil over a piece of white cardstock and blended shaded lilac distress ink over the stencil concentrating most of the color on the right side and fading out towards the top, bottom, and left.  I let it dry and then spritzed it a few times with shimmer spray.  I also smooshed shaded lilac distress ink on my craft mat, splattered it over the panel, and let it dry completely.  I arranged my flowers and sentiment over the stenciling and adhered them with ATG adhesive.  Then I finished the card with a few pink and purple jewels!

And that’s it!  Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a fabulous day!

Poor husband! It’s good thing he’s not in charge of coloring.

Jess, I’m sorry but I am a little confused about how you did the no-line Copic coloring. Did you use your Copics on your stamps? Regardless of how you did them, they are gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your coloring and card.

Hi Laura, I stamped the flowers with amalgam ink and then used the faint outline of the image to color it in with copics! Hope that helps! 🙂

Jess, this is a lovely card…your added coloring adds such depth to your images. Your stenciing, spattering etc. give a background worthy of these images. tfs
