Where Creativity Meets C9: Challenge #19 – Sketch

9 Mar

Busy day on the blog!  For the Studio Katia March Release Blog Hop please scroll down or click here.  For the Simon Says Stamp Best Days Blog Hop please click here!

Good morning!  This month one of our designers, Karen, created a fun sketch for our new challenge!  You can find all the details and the rest of the design team’s creations on the challenge blog!  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s what I created using the sketch for my inspiration:

Thinking of You by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Where Creativity Meets C9

If you’ve checked out the other posts on my blog today you probably noticed that one was pretty coloring intensive and the other two were fairly busy designs.  So I was really feeling the urge to go CAS for my challenge card.  You know, there are days when I kinda wish I had a “signature style” or color palette and that people could look at a card and go “oh that’s definitely a Jessica Frost-Ballas card” but then there are days like today when I’m pretty proud that I can experiment with different techniques and mediums and be really happy with all of them even though they’re NOTHING alike! 😉

Anyway, back to my card!  I kept it super simple and stamped the gorgeous Lily with intense black ink.  Then I masked it with a post-it note and stamped the lines from the Love Always stamp set using three different shades of pink ink from Simon Says Stamp: Twirling Tutu, Teeny Bikini, and Hot Lips!  Then I stamped the inside layers of the lily using the same inks.  Next I stamped the sentiment and restamped the Lily outline with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder.  Finally I finished the card with a sprinkling of sparkling clear sequins!

And now it’s your turn!  The challenge ends on March 29th and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create!  Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more design inspiration throughout the month!  Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing day!

I love clean and simple cards and this one is so pretty. I like that you don’t have a signature style – I always look forward to seeing what creative new designs you come up with.
