Lawnscaping Challenge #118: In With The Old!

16 Nov

This is my second post for today!  If you’re looking for the Hero Arts + A Blog Named Hero Holiday Blog Hop, please scroll down or click here!

challenge 118

Good morning!  It’s the first Monday of the month which means we’ve got a new challenge up at Lawnscaping and it’s a fun one!  Challenge #118, sponsored by Lawn Fawn, is In With The Old!  Dust off those old Lawn Fawn sets as the focus of your creation and one lucky winner will win a stamp set of their choice from Lawn Fawn!

I confess I have owned the And a Partridge Lawn Fawn stamp set for YEARS and this is the first time I’ve ever used it.  It’s a really cute set though and I definitely think I will come up with other ways to use it this year!

My card exclusively uses the And a Partridge stamp set along with the retired (see, it’s definitely “in with the old”…ha!) Snow Day patterned paper from Lawn Fawn and the Stitched Circle Tag dies.  After die-cutting a circle tag, I heat-embossed the tree with gold tinsel powder and then used copic markers to color the pears.  I stamped the tree again on scrap paper with red pigment ink and heat-embossed it with clear powder.  I colored the bird’s belly, fussy cut him, and layered him on my gold tree with foam mounting tape.  When I fussy cut the bird I cut off his legs and beak so that the gold embossing powder would show instead.  Next I stamped the greenery design and sentiment onto patterned paper and heat-embossed it with white powder.  I tied Peppermint and Gold Sparkle twine with metallic gold thread around the patterned paper and tied a bow at the top of the tag.  I layered it onto a white card base with foam mounting tape and secured the tag with a little adhesive!

Thanks so much for visiting!  For more information on how to join the challenge and additional inspiration check out the Lawnscaping blog and the Lawnscaping Facebook page!
