Lawnscaping Challenge #114 – One Layer Card

21 Sep

Good morning!  This is my second post for today!  If you’re looking for my post for The Ton Stamps please scroll down or click here!

lschallenge

Today is the third Monday of the month which means it’s time for another Lawnscaping Challenge!  Challenge #114, sponsored by Lawn Fawn, is One Layer!  Keep it simple…just fold a piece of cardstock in half and create your card!!  One lucky winner will win a stamp set of their choice from Lawn Fawn!

lawn fawnThis was a fun challenge but it definitely pushed me to think a little CAS which, if you’re a regular reader, is not my strong suit! 😉  But here’s what I came up with!

JessicaLS114I really wanted to stick closely to the challenge and only use one piece of cardstock folded in half!  I started off by stamping the cute beakers from Science of Love onto a piece of white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder.  Then I colored them with zig clean color real brush markers.  I am not a fan of color bleeding through cardstock so I kept the colors very light so there would be no bleed-through.  I added a little bit of grey to the base of my beakers to ground them.  Then I stamped the sentiment below with versamark and heat-embossed it with silver embossing powder.  The steam was stamped with silver pigment ink and heat-embossed with silver embossing glitter.  I colored the contents of each beaker with diluted iridescent medium and then added glossy accents to give the beakers a little shine.  Finally I scored the card base and then added a few more decorative score lines to frame my image.

Thanks so much for visiting!  For more information on how to join the challenge and additional inspiration check out the Lawnscaping blog and the Lawnscaping Facebook page!  I can’t wait to see your One Layer cards!
