Shaker Saturday #11

9 May

Good morning!  I’m back with another Shaker Saturday!  Earlier this week I had an idea for what I wanted to do for Shaker Saturday; then I saw Taheerah’s fabulous Gossip Column post for Winnie & Walter yesterday and decided to do a total 180!

So here’s my take on the challenge, incorporating geometric design into your creation:

I was also excited to take my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool on its inaugural run!  I started off by die-cutting that awesome My Favorite Things Triangle Screen die from gold glitter and black cardstock.  I popped out all off the inner triangles and set them aside for later.  I used an Avery Elle stamp pocket for my shaker and filled it with Taxi Night, Medallion Gold, and Don’t Wait On Me sequins from The Ton!

Next I glued the die-cut panel to the shaker pocket with Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  I selectively inlaid gold and black triangles back on the die-cut panel by gluing them to the shaker pocket.  After that had dried I used foam mounting tape at the top and bottom of the panel and behind some of the triangles to attach the panel to a top-folding A2 card!  Using a shaker pocket really helped cut down on the bulk of the shaker and it also helped keep the sequins a little more spread out!  It was also ridiculously easy to run the Fuse Tool along a ruler to create the shaker instead of cutting tons of tiny strips of foam mounting tape!  I may have a new best friend! 😉

For the sentiment I die-cut the word from The Big, The Bold, and You set by Winnie & Walter three times using Simon Says Stamp Doll Pink cardstock.  I glued them together and then went over the word with my wink of stella clear glitter pen before adhering it to the front of the shaker panel.  I’m entering this card in the Gossip Column Challenge #2!

Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing weekend!  This morning I’m off to the State Arboretum Garden Fair to find some butterfly and hummingbird plants for the garden!

Don’t forget to comment on my last post for the chance to win a $25 gift card to the stamp/craft store of your choice! 🙂

The shaker looks fabulous behind that acetate! I made a see-thru card very much like this, but love the sparkle the sequins add.

Wow, what a stunner of a card! I love the movement you created with the gold and black triangle die cuts that you kept in place, and the copious sequins make this such a fun way to bring facets into the overall design too! Thanks for spreading The Gossip on w&w’s The Gossip Column!
