Hero Arts August My Monthly Hero Blog Hop (+GIVEAWAY!)

6 Aug

Good afternoon!  It’s the first Monday of the month which means it’s release time for the August My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts!!  The August kit is now available for purchase at Hero Arts but once they’re sold out, they’re gone for good so make sure to head over and shop soon!  Remember you can also subscribe to the kit so you’ll never miss one again!  Plus you can add other items to your order and take advantage of the free kit shipping!! 😉

The kit contains:

  • 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set
  • 1 3.5″ x 4.5″ Window Fancy Die
  • 11 Coordinating Frame Cuts
  • Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen 0.5 fl. oz.
  • White Puff Embossing Powder 0.5 oz.
  • 2 5.5″ x 8.5″ Sheets of Coffee & Tea Hand Dyed Decorative Paper

The kit value is nearly $77, an amazing deal at $34.99!

I created and shared this coffee-colored card earlier so today I’m going a little bright and colorful! 🙂

I created a long and skinny card with a little bit of masking for my stacked cups!  To start I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4″ by 8.”  Then I stamped the first mug on the top using intense black ink.  I also stamped it on a post-it note and fussy cut it.  Then I masked the top mug with the post-it note and stamped the next mug below.  I repeated the masking process and stamped four additional mugs.  I also stamped the little accents that (to me) make it seem like my cups are wobbly! 😉

Next I masked off the top part of the card and blended a little weathered wood distress ink onto the bottom to ground my cups.  Then I colored each mug with a trio of copics to create a little shading.  Finally I added a heat-embossed sentiment flag on black cardstock to finish the card!  Generally that’s the amount of coffee I need to get through the day (though I tend to avoid the five-high stack!) 😉

To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win!  If you win and have already purchased the kit you will be reimbursed!  Please your comments before 11:59PM EST on Sunday, August 12th!  Here’s a list of all the stops on the hop:

Hi, Jessica; thanks for sharing! Most coffee/tea themes bring out all the shades of brown, which I love; but it’s refreshing to see a card with bright colors too. And I love how the stack isn’t perfectly straight – just how coffee should be lol!
