So, today’s the day…the final day of the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! I’m sad to see it end but I thought I’d go out with a bang by adding in a special giveaway just to today’s commenters! If you’re wondering what’s in the giveaway, my coffee creation for today will show you! 😉
I LOVE these mini cups from Starbucks! The barista was happy to give me a second clean cup and lid when I bought a mini s’mores frappuccino today so I’ve filled it with some instant coffee, instant mocha latte, and a $5 gift card so you can try a mini frappuccino, too!
Here’s a closer look at the tag I created:
The bow is tied so that it goes around the straw but for photograph purposes I slipped it off the straw. I was really inspired by the bright pink, green, and blue colors with touches of gold on the gift card and I used that color scheme for my tag. I start off by die-cutting the tag from Mama Elephant’s Tags A Lot. Then I stamped the coffee cup with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing power. I smooshed picked raspberry, twisted citron, and mermaid lagoon distress ink onto my craft sheet and then spritzed it with water. I used a piece of acetate to pick up the ink and apply it to the card. The purple and orange shades were created when the inks mixed. On the side of the cup there’s a colorful graphic and the tag pretty much matches every color on the cup which I love! I punched a hole in the top of the tag and added a few Glass Slippers sequins for a little extra sparkle. I also took a metallic gold paint pen and colored in the coffee sleeve to add a little metallic shine.
Next I die-cut a tag from the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Labels from Simon Says Stamp doll pink cardstock. I cut apart the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp What’s Brewing stamp set and rearranged it on my acrylic block. I stamped it in versamark and heat-embossed it with liquid platinum embossing powder. I punched a hole in that tag and used pink and teal ribbon to tie the tags to the straw.
