Support Ukraine Blog Hop with Hero Arts

12 Mar

The blue and yellow of the Ukraine flag symbolize the beauty and calm of the skies above and the joy and prosperity of wheat fields throughout the country. The national flower, the sunflower, symbolizes motherhood. To honor Ukraine, and help counter the devastation and destruction, Hero Arts is donating 100% of our net profits from sales of this Support Ukraine collection.  Funds will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross for immediate, on-the-ground help.  We will continue our fundraising efforts to also support the long-term rebuilding that will be required to restore schools, roads, homes, and the spirit of the Ukrainian people.

And Hero Arts has also created a digital stamp called Giving Sunflower and all proceeds from this product will also be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross.

I decided to use a different Heroscape to create a card for today’s hop.  The Lavender Fields Heroscape can be stamped in different colors to create a vibrant wheat field.  I paired those yellows with the bright blue sky to represent the colors of Ukraine.

I stamped the layers of the Lavender Fields Heroscape with Soft Yellow, Butterbar, and Dandelion ink and then stamped the top layer with embossing ink and heat-embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder.  Then I die cut it with the coordinating frame cut die.

Next I blended Cornflower, Indigo, and Navy ink onto a panel of Periwinkle Hero Hues cardstock using a blending brush for a softer blend.  I let the ink dry completely and stamped the sentiment from Lavender Fields Heroscape onto the panel with embossing ink and heat-embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder.  I also die-cut a few clouds from the frame cut set and adhered them to the blended panel.  Finally I adhered it to a card base to finish the card. My sincerest hope is that brighter days are indeed ahead for the people of Ukraine.

You should have arrived from Mindy’s blog and Daniel is your next stop.  You can also head to the Hero Arts blog to start the hop from the beginning and read a little bit about our former Creative Team member, Yana, who is currently in Ukraine and bravely helping to defend her country.  Thank you so much for stopping by today.
