Lawnscaping FIT October Hop

30 Oct

orangehop

Today is the last Friday of the month so it’s time for the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team Blog Hop, sponsored by The Ink Road!  This month we’re inspired by orange!

Leave a comment on all of the blogs in the hop for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to The Ink Road!  You should arrived from Lenny’s blog and your next stop is Kate! (A full list of all hop stops is at the bottom of this post!)

Here is my card, inspired by orange (and Halloween!)!

LSFIThop October

To create my shaker card I blended Wild Honey, Dried Marigold, and Ripe Persimmon distress inks onto a piece of watercolor paper.  I flicked on a little water and let it set for about 10 seconds before blotting it off.  Next I die-cut a large circle from white cardstock and blended on Antique Linen and Old Paper distress inks to create my large harvest moon!  I adhered the moon to the background and stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s Spooktacular with versafine and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I stamped the cat from Spooktacular with versafine, embossed it with clear powder, and colored him with copics.  I used my Scan N Cut to cut him out.  Then I used the Grassy Borders die to cut grass from black cardstock.  I adhered the cat and grass to my background and then set it aside while I worked on the shaker portion of my card.

I die-cut a stitched frame from black cardstock and adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the frame.  I used foam mounting tape to build up a border on the back of the frame and then filled the shaker with seed beads and sequins!  I adhered the background panel to the foam mounting tape and then adhered the shaker to a black card base!

I hope my card inspires you to use orange in your creations!  Get hopping and don’t forget to leave a comment on every hop stop for a chance to win $25 to The Ink Road!  Also, make sure you leave your email address so that we can contact you if you win!
