Happy Birthday Concord & 9th!! (+GIVEAWAY!)

2 Aug

Lots of giveaways going on right now…don’t forget to comment on my Christmas in July series or the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero giveaway!

Good morning!  I am so thrilled to be helping Concord & 9th celebrate their first birthday!  It’s hard to believe they’ve only been in the industry for a year because they’re everywhere (in a good way)! 😉 Greg and Angie are ridiculously kind and I love how supportive they are of crafters and other companies!  I’m so thankful for the opportunity to join in on their month-long birthday bash!  And, as with all great parties, there are prizes!  You’ll find more information on that at the bottom of my post! 🙂

I’ve been a big fan of Concord & 9th ever since Kymona introduced me to them last September!  Here are some of my favorite cards using their stamps and dies:

cand9video1

And here’s what I created for their birthday bash!

I wanted something bright and cheerful and I had a lot of fun getting distress ink all over my fingers (and some on my cards)!

For the first card I blended festive berries, picked raspberry, abandoned coral, and dried marigold distress ink onto a piece of cardstock.  Then I flicked water over the card twice blotting the first drops after 10 seconds and the second drops after 30 seconds.  Once it dried completely I flicked white paint over the card and let it dry overnight.  The next day I prepped it with a powder tool and then stamped the flowers from Wildflower with versamark and heat-embossed them with white embossing powder.  Then I went over the flowers with a spectrum noir clear glitter brush for a little extra sparkle.  Can you see all that shimmer?

I stamped the sentiment from Beautiful Words and Layers of Love onto black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed them with white embossing powder.  I fussy cut it to down to a label and adhered it to my card with foam mounting tape.  To finish the card I added a mix of clear droplets and sparkling clear sequins.

For my second card I used seedless preserves, mermaid lagoon, and salty ocean distress ink.  I used the same Wildflower stamp set for the background and Layers of Love for the sentiment.

So, happy birthday Concord & 9th!!  I wish you MANY MANY more years of success!!

giveawayConcord & 9th has quite the birthday bash planned this month!  Every day of August there’s a special guest (or two!) who will be giving away a $20 gift card to Concord & 9th!  Leave a comment on my post before 11:59PM EST on August 8th for a chance to win!  You can also visit the Concord & 9th blog to enter everyone’s giveaway each day! 😉

What a great card idea! That style can be used for so many different occasions! I always thought you needed to do the embossing first and then the ink blending!

Both these cards are so beautiful! I love the colorful simplicity. And thanks for the exact blend of inks you used. Easier than experimenting on my own, lol! And Happy Birthday to Concord and 9th. I already own 3 of their stamp sets, so I’m a fan.

I have been following and admiring Concord & 9th for about five months. Every month, their release is really wonderful. I just love your cards — the large open flowers work so well with the ombre coloring.

Gorgeous, simply gorgeous! Love the designs, the stamps and your mad coloring skills. Especially love your clean and simple designs as often some cards are more fluff, flowers and ribbons and you can’t see the stamp design. I keep going back and looking at your cards trying to decide on a favorite and its impossible. Super job.
