Christmas Card Challenges #43: Anything Goes

27 Sep

Good afternoon and thanks for stopping by for another Anything Goes week at Christmas Card Challenges!  It’s been awhile since I’ve made a shaker card so I thought I’d break out the beads and sequins this week!

Jessica #43

To create my card I die-cut the Memory Box Retro Ornaments from a piece of white cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment from Papertrey Ink onto the bottom corner and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing glitter.  Then I turned the cardstock panel over and adhered a piece of acetate to the back.  Next I laid foam mounting tape along the edges of the card as well as around each ornament so that I could fill each ornament with different colored sequins and beads.  After I filled the shaker compartments I added patterned paper from Lawn Fawn to back each shaker.  I sealed the shaker and then adhered it to a white card base.  Finally I drew lines onto the card to create strings for the ornaments. Easy and sparkly!!

I hope you’ll play along with the challenge this week!  I look forward to seeing how you interpret the inspiration photo!  For even more inspiration, check out what the rest of the design team has created!

Jess, I love when you make your shakers. The Shaker Queen, doesn’t sound so fancy but no one does them better, you definitely hold the title in my book. Love the colors of the ornaments and the detail in the background. I’ve got a lot of sequins but no beads, got to get some beads, the shakers just don’t look the same without them. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
