Hero Arts Holiday Catalog Release Hop (+GIVEAWAYS!)

24 Aug

Hi friends!  Today is one of my favorite days of the year!  The Holiday Catalog Release is now available from Hero Arts and we’re hopping to celebrate!!  I’m sharing a few cards using my favorite products from the new catalog release!  You can find all of the new release products HERE!

My first card uses the new Tree Pattern Cover Plate with some of my favorite Hero Arts cardstock colors for a dreamy pastel holiday card!  I’m using Peony, Arctic, Paradise, Adriatic, and gold glitter cardstock and have randomly mixed and matched them across the panel!  I actually created several cards using up all of the trees and background panels and I finished the card with a gold heat-embossed sentiment from Winter Foliage Stamp & Cut XL!

My second card relies on a stamping tool to create that fun Northern Lights effect but I think it’s worth the time!  To start I stamped the bear duo from Northern Lights Polar Bear and colored them with copic markers before fussy-cutting them. Next I blended a panel of Periwinkle cardstock with Cornflower and Nautical ink to create a night sky.  Then I used a MISTI to stamp the northern lights and sparkles onto the same panel and heat-embossed them with white embossing ink.  Next I left the stamps in the same position on my MISTI and inked them with reactive inks and stamped them over the white embossing.  I stamped a few times until I could see the pastel colors on over the white embossing.  Finally I stamped once more with embossing ink and heat-embossed them with sparkle embossing powder for a sparkly finish. The top layer of sparkle embossing powder helps to kinda seal the reactive ink colors in!  I added some snowbanks torn from vellum and a sentiment from the same set!

My last project to share is a trio of tags using the new Peeking Snowman, Peeking Reindeer, and Peeking Elf!  I colored them with copic markers and added them to a tag of Cherry cardstock stamped with my favorite snowflakes background stamp!

And that’s it!  I’ll have more to share soon but I hope this has given you some inspiration using the new release!

To celebrate the release, Hero Arts is giving away two $50 gift cards as a prize to three blog readers selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win!  Please comment before 11:59PM PST on Thursday, August 31st!  You should have arrived from Ilina and Lydia is your next stop!

Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the hop!! Happy shopping!

I can’t decide which I like best. I think the little peeker tags, but the northern lights was really impressive too.

Hi, Jess – Your cards and tags are fantastic – I especially love the one w/ polar bears. Anything that brings awareness to that species is aces w/ me…. their habitat is rapidly disappearing. You inspire me. Those tags are phenomenal!
