Ellen Hutson Mix It Up Challenge

17 Nov

This is my second post for today!  If you’re looking for my Fawny Holiday Week post please click here!

Don’t forget to comment on the Hero Arts+A Blog Named Hero Holiday Blog Hop for a chance to win one of three November 2015 My Monthly Hero Kits!  Click here for the post!

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a chance to play along with a challenge for fun but I saw that the November Mix It Up challenge for Ellen Hutson uses Mama Elephant and decided to give it a try!

I really enjoyed putting this card together!  I started off by heat-embossing Ellen Hutson’s Mondo Magnolia twice on watercolor paper with gold tinsel embossing powder.  I used the coordinating dies to cut the largest flower but then fussy cut the next layer so there wouldn’t be a white edge.  I used the Carmine Red zig clean color real brush marker on the top layer and the Light Carmine zig clean color real brush marker on the bottom layer.  After applying a little color to the inside of each petal I blended it out with a water brush.

Then I stamped the leaf from Mama Elephant’s Freestyle Florals onto black cardstock and embossed it with the same gold tinsel embossing powder.  I also stamped the sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Up and Away and embossed it with super fine gold embossing powder.  I layered the magnolia onto the black cardstock with foam mounting tape and added a sprinkling of pink sequins to finish the card!

And before I forget…a happy mail update!  I forgot to post about it yesterday but I mailed another card yesterday and two today which brings my total to…

November 2015 Total Cards Mailed: 37

I’m getting through the list…slowly but surely! 😉

Anyway, thanks so much for visiting and have a fantastic day!
