Happy New Year!

1 Jan

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  I’m popping in bright and early with my first card for 2021!!  Before we get started, make sure you check out My Favorite Cards of 2020 and my $50 giveaway by scrolling down or clicking HERE!

Happy New Year by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Concord & 9th

I kept it fairly clean and simple (at least CAS for me, ha) and used a fun new set from Concord & 9th to keep the focus on the sentiment!  To start I stamped the New from All the Letters Solid with Delicata Golden Glitz ink!  I haven’t used that ink pad in quite awhile and I realized quickly that it really needed to be reinked!  If it’s well-inked and juicy you should get a nice sparkly solid stamping…if not, add a few drops of reinker and try it again!  I let that dry and then stamped the rest of the sentiment using the Lovely Letters Uppercase and Lowercase sets.  The letter stamps are designed to be stamped together to resemble modern handlettering.  It’s an alphabet set so it allows you to stamp whatever sentiment you desire!  I stamped Happy and Year with versamark and heat-embossed it with black embossing powder.  Then I stamped the numbers from the Little Letters stamp set and heat-embossed them with black embossing powder as well.

Next I used a post it note to cover the sentiment and then splattered the panel with metallic gold paint.  I let that dry and then trimmed the panel down to 3.75″ by 5.5″.  I swiped the delicata ink pad along the edges of a panel cut to 4″ by 5.5″ and matted it to the sentiment panel with foam mounting tape.  Finally I adhered it to a black card base and finished it with a few glossy black sequins!

And that’s it!  I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season this year and are able to celebrate the New Year today!  Thanks so much for your support in 2020 and I look forward to a bright and hope-filled 2021!
