Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Day 2 and a GIVEAWAY!!

6 Jun

Good morning!  I’m so excited that the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop has begun!  Yesterday I shared a coffee card to represent The Ton!  The Ton is a super sponsor and flash sponsor for the hop and you can win a $10 gift certificate by commenting on this post!  I am also doing a personal blog candy giveaway for my remaining coffee hop posts!  Find more information on my giveaway at the end of this post!

Here’s my card for today!

The cards for this hop are supposed to have a summer theme and I thought these two cold coffee drink cups would be perfect for a beachy scene!  I LOVE this new stamp set from Lil’ Inker Designs!  It is SO perfect for this hop!

I started off by using post-it tape to mask off the bottom of a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock.  I also punched a circle from post it tape to mask the sun.  I blended Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade onto the top portion of the cardstock.  Once I was happy with the sky I removed the circular mask and added a little Dried Marigold distress ink to color the sun.  Next I turned the post-it tape around and masked off the top portion of the card before blending Chipped Sapphire, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean, and Tumbled Glass distress ink to create the ocean!

I stamped the coffee cups onto a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with copic-friendly Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the cups with copic markers and then fussy cut them.  I added clear wink of stella glitter to the whipped cream for a little extra sparkle!  Then I took the faces from Lawn Fawn’s Gleelful Gardens and stamped them onto the coffee cups to give them a little personality! 😉

I tore two pieces of gold glitter paper to create a jagged shoreline and then arranged the coffee cups in between the ‘sandy layers’.  I used my ATG gun to adhere them to the distress inked panel.  I masked off the line underneath the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp What’s Brewing stamp set and stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I die-cut the sentiment with the skinniest Stitched Fishtail Banner from My Favorie Things and attached it to the panel with foam mounting tape.  To finish the card I attached the panel to a top-folding A2 card base!

GIVEAWAY

I will be selecting one random commenter to win a $20 gift certificate to Lil’ Inker Designs to pick up some of their awesome coffee OR summer sets!  I will be posting each day during the Hop…each post you comment on will get you another chance to win!  If you missed the first day you can find my card here!  Also, subscribing to my blog via the button on your right will also get you another chance (and if you’re already a subscriber, I’ll count that as an entry, too!)! 🙂

Thanks so much for visiting and have a fantastic weekend!

Haha – your card made me giggle right out loud! I’m just envisioning some hilarious things being said between this romantic pair. “Wow, you’re a tall drink of water, aren’t you?” “You’re so hot, you melt my heart” Ok… I’ll stop now, but thanks for the laugh! bexcruger at gmail.com
