You Are Magical!

18 Feb

Good morning!  Jess here with a bright and sparkly card using products from Neat and Tangled and Nuvo by Tonic!  From the time I was a little girl I’ve always been in love with unicorns!  So when I saw the Magical Day stamp set over at Neat and Tangled I knew it would be perfect matched with some sparkly, glittery Nuvo products!

You Are Magical by Jessica Frost-Ballas

First I applied three strips of double sided tape to a piece of white cardstock.  I carefully peeled up one strip at a time and sprinkled it with nuvo sparkle dust fine glitter.

I used Paradise Blue, Electric Blue, Cosmo Berry sparkle dust fine glitter.  After sprinkling one color I placed a piece of scrap paper on top of the sparkle dust, and burnished it into the tape so it wouldn’t rub off.  I wiped off the excess sparkle dust with a dry swiffer cloth and then repeated the process with the other colors.

I stamped my sentiment from the Neat and Tangled set onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I trimmed that down and adhered it over the glitter with foam mounting tape.

Then it was time to color my unicorn!  First I stamped and heat-embossed her with gold embossing powder on watercolor paper.  Then I watercolored her with the nuvo aqua flow markers in Aqua Splash, Spiced Ginger, Soft Rose, Indigo Dawn, and Azure Blue.  I blended out the color with the Glitter Gloss marker for a super sparkly softly watercolored look (say that 5 times fast)! 😉

I stamped the floral embellishments from the Magical Day set onto black cardstock and heat-embossed them with gold embossing powder before die-cutting them as well.  I adhered them to the glitter and then added the unicorn on top with foam mounting tape.

I really love how this card turned out!  The sparkly glitter combined with the gold and black is a perfect setting for a magical unicorn!  Thanks so much for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of your weekend! 🙂
