United We Flourish: Good Friends

Good morning!  I’m so thrilled to be sharing the newest Ellen Hutson United We Flourish collaboration: Good Friends with My Favorite Things!

Aren’t these dogs and cats adorable!!  I love the whimsical images and thought they’d make a cute interactive slider card with some fun Essentials by Ellen dies!

I started by blending several pastel distress inks onto a piece of white cardstock and then die-cut the Home and Hearth houses from Ellen Hutson from the pastel backgrounds.  I added a layer of spectrum noir clear sparkle and set them aside while I worked on the rest of the card.

Next I stamped the adorable pups and hearts from Good Friends with copic-friendly ink and colored them with copic markers before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies.  I added a few accents with a white gel pen and spectrum noir clear sparkle.  Then I die-cut the Swing N Slide channels from an A2 panel of white cardstock, added slider elements to the back of my pups, and tucked them into the channels.  I used foam mounting tape to adhere my A2 panel to a white card base and then adhered the houses.  I stamped the sentiment from Good Friends onto black cardstock, heat-embossed it with white embossing powder, and trimmed it down to a fishtail banner before adhering it to the card with foam mounting tape.  Finally I adhered the hearts to small strips of acetate and adhered the acetate to the back of the dogs.

And that’s it!  I love that when you slide the pups together to touch noses, the hearts move with them!  The dies from Ellen Hutson and the stamps from MFT just work together beautifully and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be parts of the collaboration!  Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful day!
