Happy Halloween! (And some giveaway news!) ;)

31 Oct

Good morning and Happy Halloween!  I’m popping in with a quick Halloween card using a spooky set from the most recent release from Hero Arts!

Happy Halloween by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Hero Arts

To start I stamped the solid ghost with white pigment ink and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I stamped the eyes with versamark and heat-embossed it with black sparkle embossing powder.  When I emboss over embossing powder I always make sure my heat gun is REALLY hot so that the powder melts instantly; otherwise it tends to melt into the other powder which can be a cool effect, but not the one I was going for on this card.  Next I stamped the sentiment with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.  The ghost has a spooky translucence from the white pigment ink which is a great contrast to the white-embossed sentiment!

Finally I blended a little white pigment ink around the edges to create a soft, foggy look!  It’s the perfect look for a CAS Halloween card!

Also, I wanted to take a minute to address giveaway winners!  I’ve had a couple emails recently asking about giveaway winners for recent giveaways.  I used to announce winners in blog posts but found that people weren’t seeing their names and I’d have to go through several names until someone commented.  So I decided to switch over to a system that other bloggers have used and liked.  I now have a Giveaway Winners page on my blog where you can check to see all the winners for recent giveaways.  I will also send emails to the winners if they’ve left an email with their comment.  If I do not hear back from you within a week I will pick a new winner and contact them.  Hopefully this will streamline the process and make sure that everyone can easily find winners for various giveaways!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a happy Halloween!  Unfortunately we don’t live in an area readily accessible to trick or treaters so we’ll just settle for a spooky movie like Hocus Pocus and some yummy Halloween treats! 😉

    Adorable card!
Great idea to have a Giveaway Winners page. I wanted to ask where the HARRY POTTER BLOG HOP’s winner is announced. Thanks for answering.
