Watercolor Wonders

21 Jun

The Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is underway!  More than 250 entries as of writing this post!  Head here and here to see my first two cards and enter my giveaway!

Good morning!  I hope you’re having a fantastic start to your week!  The school year has ended so my schedule is a little more relaxed and I’ve been able to set aside time for some fun crafting!  Today I’m sharing a pair of cards using the Watercolor Wonders stamp set from Altenew along with the line of crisp inks from Altenew.  Here’s my first card:

I really like this stamp set because you don’t have to line up the layers perfectly to get a gorgeous look.  I used some of the tinier stamps in the set to fill in some of the gaps around the larger flowers and greenery.  I stamped the sentiment in jet black ink and then added a few Onyx black sequins to finish the card.

My second card uses a different layout but the same floral stamps and inks.  I like how the change from using a purple main flower to a red flower totally changes the look of the card.  For the second card I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp’s new Uplifting Thoughts stamp set with black ink and then framed the panel with black cardstock to make the dark sentiment fit in.  Finally I added a sprinkling of clear sequins for a little extra sparkle.

Can you see the mistakes in my stamp alignment?  They’re definitely there…but it still just seems to work, right?  And I love those shades of red…so yummy! 🙂

Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a fabulous Tuesday! 🙂

Really pretty cards, love the colors and the layout designs. I only see the minor misaligned layer because you pointed it out and I went back to see if I could spot it. You are right, it didn’t make any difference, looks great and is still a beautiful card.

Hi Jess ~ Beautiful layout combined with beautiful stamps and well-chosen colors. I need to get this sentiment set; it was made for me (I was injured 4 1/2 years ago and left 75% disabled and am having trouble looking at the positive right now). If you hadn’t pointed it out, I wouldn’t have spotted any “mistake” in your card…I was too busy looking at the beautiful stamping! ~HUGS~
