Good afternoon! Today is the release day for the Hero Arts October My Monthly Hero kit and it’s a must-have for autumn and Halloween!! You should have arrived from the fabulous Michelle; but if not, you can head to the Hero Arts Blog to start at the beginning! The October kit is now available for purchase at Hero Arts but once they’re sold out, they’re gone for good so make sure to head over and shop soon!
The kit contains:
- 6×8 Clear Set
- 10 Frame Cuts
- 3 Fancy Dies
- 6 sheets 5×7 decorative paper: 3 assorted styles, 2 of each
- 1 Thick Lacquer Pen
- Silver Embossing Powder 0.5 oz
- 1 Unicorn White Ink Cube
The kit value is $70, an amazing deal at $34.99.
Here’s what I created with the kit:
I decided to use some of the add-on items to create a dimensional card! I started by die-cutting the Winter Hearth stamp and cut fireplace using Shizen watercolor paper (that was included in a previous kit). It’s a thick, textural paper and I thought it would give the look of rough bricks. Next I blended charcoal ink onto the edges of the fireplace to give it a worn grey look. Then I stamped the stockings onto red and green cardstock and heat-embossed them with gold embossing powder before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies.
Next I stamped the log onto white cardstock, masked it, and stamped again before coloring them with copic markers. Then I inked the flames with distress inks, spritzed them with water and stamped them over the log. Finally I stamped the grate with versamark and heat-embossed it with black detail embossing powder. I cut that out and adhered it behind the fireplace. I stamped the sentiment onto red cardstock and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder before adhering the fireplace to finish the card.
I love how realistic the card looks and the variety of textures and dimension!
To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win!
