A Blog Named Hero: Challenge – Use Your Favorite Hero Arts Product

15 Mar

Good morning!!  It’s been a few months but A Blog Named Hero is back with our first challenge for 2018!!

And we have some exciting news for our challenge!  Hero Arts is the official sponsor of our challenge blog and every month we will have two fabulous prizes for our challenge!  One chosen winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Hero Arts and one randomly chosen entry will receive a $25 gift certificate to Hero Arts!  Thanks Hero!! 🙂

And here’s what I created for the challenge:

Sending You Love by Jessica Frost-Ballas for A Blog Named HeroOne of my favorite products from Hero Arts are the gorgeous bold prints background stamps and this particular one, Pearl Strings, has always been one of my favorites.  It’s so classy and timeless…it works wonderfully as a background for the mermaid stamps, or as a graphic design for holiday cards, or, as a backdrop for an elegant Paris-themed card! 😉

To start I blended inks onto a piece of bristol smooth cardstock.  I used Ocean, Tide Pool, and Soft Pool inks.  Then I dried the inks with a heat gun briefly to make sure the embossing powder wouldn’t stick where I didn’t want it.  Next I stamped the Pearl Strings stamp onto the cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder.

Sending You Love by Jessica Frost-Ballas for A Blog Named HeroNext I die-cut the Paper Layering Eiffel Tower and the Love word die from gold cardstock and adhered them over the ombre background.  Then I stamped the rest of the sentiment onto white cardstock and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder.  Finally I trimmed that down to a fishtail banner and adhered it to the card.  I love all the dimension and sparkle on the finished card!  It has a lot of depth but it’s basically a flat card!

And now it’s your turn!  The challenge ends on April 15th and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create!  Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more design inspiration throughout the month!  Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing day!

Interested in the products I used?  To make them easy for you to find, I have listed them below. (Affiliate disclosure can be found here). Your purchases help keep my blog running at no extra cost to you and I thank you for the support!!
