A Blog Named Hero: Challenge – Watercoloring

Good morning!  It’s time for the second half of the A Blog Named Hero design team to share additional inspiration for our May challenge!  This month is all about watercoloring with our collaboration company, Honeybee Stamps and here’s what I created!

I’ve always loved the Hero Arts Stamp Your Own Succulent set but really thought it needed some florals! 😉 And the Country Blooms set from Honeybee Stamps was just perfect!  To start I stamped the floral arrangement from Country Blooms onto watercolor paper with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I stamped it onto masking paper and fussy cut a mask.  I laid the mask over the floral arrangement and then stamped the terrarium from the Hero Arts set over the arrangement.  I also stamped a small succulent inside the terrarium with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I watercolored the image using my zig clean color real brush markers and a damp paintbrush.  I like to apply a line of color to the edge of the stamp and then blend it out with the paintbrush.  While it was drying I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.

Finally I trimmed my watercolor panel down, adhered it to a black card base, and added the sentiment with foam mounting tape!  CAS and I think those two sets work PERFECTLY together! 🙂
