Spring Florals Watercolored Card for the Altenew Video Challenge #5

Good morning!  Today I’m excited to share my first attempt at entering a video challenge!  Videos are still a new and slightly daunting adventure for me but I am very encouraged by all your kind comments and support!  So here goes!

The theme for the challenge is Anything Goes so I created a spring-themed floral watercolor card with Altenew stamps and Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers!

I started off by stamping the flowers onto watercolor paper with Versafine and heat-embossing them with clear embossing powder.  Next I used my Zig markers and a waterbrush to color the flowers.  While they were drying I stamped and heat-embossed the hummingbird from Altenew’s Orikami on gold shimmer cardstock and fussy cut him.  I ran a black marker around the edges of the hummingbird to create a finished look!  I also stamped the sentiment from Orikami on a long vellum strip and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I adhered the ends of the vellum strip to the back of the watercolor panel so that the adhesive wouldn’t show.  Then I adhered the hummingbird with foam mounting tape for a little more dimension.  Finally to add some sparkle I added a few Glass Slippers Sparkling Clear sequins!

I love using Zigs to watercolor!  The color blends amazingly well on quality watercolor paper and creates beautifully dimensional results!  So that’s my card!  I hope you’ll head over and watch the full video! 🙂
