Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge #5: Try Something New

Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge 5: Try Something New

Good morning!  Today we’re starting the fifth challenge for Where Creativity Meets C9 and our theme is Try Something New!  You can find all the details and the rest of the design team’s creations here!

We are sponsored by the fabulous Concord & 9th and one lucky random entry will receive a $25 gift certificate for a Concord & 9th shopping spree and our favorite entry will be asked to guest-design for a future challenge!

We were super lucky to receive stamps and dies from the January Concord & 9th release to use for our “something new” creations!  And lucky for you, the release is now live and you can head over to Concord & 9th to place your order…I’ll wait until you get back! 😉

Love Always by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge #5: Try Something New

Man, this was a HARD card to photograph…it’s actually gold, black, and white but it came out kinda green in the photo.  But just so you know it is gold, black, and white! 😉

To start I watercolored the top half of my card with my Finetec metallic gold paint and set it aside to dry.  Then I used the new Love Always Frame die with the Happy Card Frame die to create a gold glitter frame.  Once the watercolored background dried I stamped the falling hearts stamp from Love Always with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Next I die-cut the sentiment banner from Love Always Frame dies with black cardstock and adhered it to the gold frame.  Then I adhered the frame to the background with foam mounting tape.  And finally I added a little extra sparkle with a sprinkling of metallic gold sequins!

Looooove all the gold! Super pretty background, I like the hearts and beautiful gold paint. I didn’t see green, I had to scroll back up to see what you were talking about, lol. If you didn’t say anything I don’t think we really would’ve noticed, lol. It’s gorgeous either way. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
