Challenge Me a Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton: Color Palette

26 Nov

BLACK FRIDAY SALES HAVE BEGUN!!  I’ll be updating my Current Sales page as the week progresses so make sure to bookmark it and check before you start your holiday shopping!

Hello!  I’m excited to join Michelle Lupton in her Challenge Me a Christmas Card series!  You can find more about the series over at her blog but the general idea is that she asked friends to join her in creating holiday cards with a shared theme!  Today’s theme is a pretty color palette and inspiration photo that I chose.  I wanted to push both of us out of our rainbow comfort zones with something a little different! 😉

And here’s what I created:

Peace on Earth by Jessica Frost-Ballas for WPlus9 with Winter Greenery

I just love this new Winter Greenery set from WPlus9 and thought it’d be perfect for that color palette!  To start I used a layering set of inks from Altenew to stamp the foliage in various combinations.  I used Silver Lake, Gray Denim, Cloudy Night, and Charcoal Suit.  I also blended a little Charcoal Suit ink on the edges of a piece of Coal Mine cardstock.  Then I stamped the berries using Lawn Fawn inks in Wild Rose and Cranberry and WPlus9 ink in Cranberry Crush.  I die-cut all the images using the coordinating dies.  Then I stamped a few pine boughs onto the grey cardstock with Charcoal Suit ink.

Next I die-cut the Peace word from Autumn Rose cardstock and white cardstock.  Then I stamped the rest of the sentiment onto white cardstock with Charcoal Suit ink and die-cut it with the wavy flag die.  I arranged all my die-cut foliage in a loose swag on the cardstock panel and adhered them with a mix of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape.  Then I added the berries and sentiment.  Finally I finished the card with a handful of dark grey sequins.

Head over to see what Michelle created and make sure to check out the rest of her series! 🙂 And thanks Michelle for inviting me to join you!!  Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing day!
