Christmas Card Challenges #10: White on White

8 Feb

Christmas Card Challenges #10 White on White www.allthesparkle.com

Hey!  I’m back with a new challenge from Christmas Card Challenges and I’m really looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week!  The challenge is White on White and as you’ll see, the design team took that inspiration in all sorts of different directions!

Here’s what I created!

Christmas Card Challenges www.allthesparkle.comI knew I wanted to do something with snow and I thought a shaker card would be fun!  I started off by cutting two circles of Neenah Solar White cardstock with the largest circle die from the Lawn Fawn Circles set.  Then I cut the Simon Says Stamp Funky Snowflake from the center of one of the circles.

To create the shaker I die-cut the same sized circle from two pieces of white fun foam.  Then I cut the next size circle from the center of each circle to create a circular frame.  I glued those together and then glued them to the back piece.  I filled them with Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins in 4, 6, and 8mm, silver glitter snowflakes I found on sale a few months ago, silver and white extra-fine glitter, and Martha Stewart coarse glitter.  It’s quite sparkly…and I LOVE it!  To finish the shaker I adhered a piece of acetate to the snowflake circle and then glued that piece to the fun foam frame.

Christmas Card Challenges www.allthesparkle.comTo finish the card I cut one final circle from the same large Lawn Fawn set and scored a line about a 1/4″ down from the top.  I folded that scoreline a few times and then put a thick layer of adhesive down.  I adhered that circle to the shaker making sure that the scoreline was at the top of the card.  The scoreline allows the card to open up easily while retaining the circle shape.  I die cut the sentiment from the WPlus9 Hand-Lettered Holiday set with silver glitter paper and glued it to the front of the shaker card.

So go get crafty!  I look forward to seeing your White on White creations!  And maybe you’ll see your card on our Facebook page!  Don’t forget to visit the rest of the design team!
