Good morning and Happy World Cardmaking Day! A few months ago I finally tried the distress oxide sprays that I’ve been hoarding for years and really had a lot of fun using them! I wanted to create a Halloween background using something other than ink-blending (shocking, I know!) so I decided to reach for the distress oxide sprays again!
I created a video for today’s card that you can watch below or over on my YouTube channel! And don’t forget to subscribe to my channel and turn on notifications so you won’t miss any of my future videos! 😉
I chose a teal, blue, and black palette for my card but you could also go with more more traditional Halloween colors with yellow, orange, and black!
It’s easier to watch the video for all the details and layers of the background but essentially I sprayed distress resist spray, distress oxide sprays, water, spectrum noir glitter ink, and brushed pewter spray to create my background! It’s the perfect spooky little scene for my ghost from Honey Bee Stamps!
And as I mentioned earlier today is World Cardmaking Day and many of our favorite crafting companies are celebrating with awesome sales! Here are some of my favorite sales:
Ellen Hutson is offering a one day only 20% off SITE-WIDE sale!! I missed the MFT Holiday kit but I think I’ll be snagging the cute Christmas Lights die-namics! And also the new releases from Avery Elle and Honey Bee Stamps are available! Be sure to check out the new products in the shop to see if you missed anything! 😉
Scrapbook.com is offering fantastic sales on Catherine Pooler, Ranger, Doodlebug Design, Penny Black, Spellbinders, Pinkfresh Studio, Sizzix, and Picket Fence Stamps as well as their own exclusive Scrapbook.com product line! If you haven’t tried their domed blending foams yet now’s a great time to give them a try! 😉
Erin Lee Creative is offering 30% off their sale category which includes the super popular Look on the Bright Side Rainbow kit! 😉
I hope you find time to get crafty today and celebrate this hobby and community that we all love so much! Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing weekend!
