Light It Up Blue for Autism Mini Hop + Giveaways!

30 Apr

This is my second post of the day.  If you’re looking for my sneak for The Ton please scroll down or click here!

Hello and welcome to the Light It Up Blue Mini Hop as we celebrate the last day of Autism Awareness month!  We wanted to hop one more time to remind everyone that Autism Awareness is important every day of the year!  And what’s a hop without prizes?!  We are being sponsored by Lawn Fawn: one lucky commenter will get to pick out the Lawn Fawn stamp set of their choice.  Veronica Zalis is also offering a $20 gift certificate to the stamp company of YOUR choice to one lucky winner and I will be offering 3 couture sequin mixes of YOUR choice from The Ton!  Be sure to visit all of the blogs playing along today and comment to increase your chances of winning!  You have until 12:00PM ET on Monday, May 4th to leave a comment!

I was incredibly honored when Veronica asked me to join the hop and I really wanted to make something that would fit the theme…so I’m at it again…playing with LED stickers from Chibitronics!  I thought the blue LED stickers would be perfect for the theme of the hop!

And this is what I came up with!

Light It Up Blue blog hop www.allthesparkle.com/liubhopI really like the card on it’s own but it is extra special when it lights up!!

Light It Up Blue Blog Hop www.allthesparkle.com/liubhopHere’s a look at the circuit I created to get the light lit!  I apologize for the not-so-stellar photo…I took it with my iPhone under less than ideal lighting conditions.

IMG_7356The white piece of cardstock on the right side of the photo holds the battery and completes the circuit.  When you press on the word ‘shine’ the lightbulb lights up.  This allows the card to stay ‘unlit’ most of the time to conserve battery.  However, if you want the light to stay on more permanently (or you want to take a photo of it without your hand in the photo…) you can insert a paperclip in the bottom right corner of the card and when it compresses the cardstock it will complete the circuit and turn the light on!

So, now it’s time to get hopping!  Visit the links below and leave a comment for your chance to win one of the fabulous prizes!  Winners will be announced on Tuesdays!

Thanks so much for visiting and if this is your first visit I’ll hope you’ll come back again!
