Seasons Giving Blog Hop (+GIVEAWAY!)

31 Dec

Happy New Year!!  I am thrilled to be participating in the Seasons Givings blog hop again this year!  The hop is in it’s 6th year and is the brainchild of the amazing Latisha Yoast!  EVERY stop on this hop is hosting a separate giveaway and there are A LOT of stops (over 60!)! 😉 We want to thank you, fabulous readers, for a wonderful year of crafty support and friendship!

Yesterday I posted a round-up of my favorite cards of 2017 with a separate giveaway that you can find here but I did want to share one more card with you!  I saw a card at the store last year featuring a design where the year flipped from one number to the next and decided to use that as my inspiration.

Happy New Year by Jessica Frost-Ballas

I love black, white, and gold decor for the New Year’s holiday and used that as my color palette.  I started by cutting 4 small white rectangles.  Then I die-cut the numbers from each rectangle using Finley’s 123s from Lawn Fawn.  On the last rectangle I used part of the number 7 and part of 8 as if to show the date flipping to the new year.  Then I die-cut the same numbers using a metallic gold cardstock.  I inlaid the gold cardstock inside the white cardstock and adhered them to a black card base.

Happy New Year by Jessica Frost-Ballas

I die-cut the Happy word using the same gold cardstock and adhered it to the card panel.  Then I stamped the sentiment from Happy Happy Happy add-ons with versafine onto white cardstock and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I trimmed it down and adhered it to the card panel with foam mounting tape.  Finally I added a spray of metallic gold sequins across the card.  And that’s it…a bright and sparkly way to ring in 2018!!

This year I have a few continuing crafty resolutions.  First off, I hope to continue to improve my copic and colored pencil coloring.  I also resolve to send more cards each month and continue to develop the crafty friendships I’ve made in this amazing community.  Finally I hope to stick to using a planner…ha, I REALLY need it.  Here’s to keeping our resolutions and lots of crafty success in 2018 to all of us!

To celebrate the Seasons Giving blog hop I am giving away a $25 gift card to Simon Says Stamp!  My giveaway is open worldwide and is open for one week!  Please leave a comment on my blog letting me know if you have a New Year’s resolution and what it is (if you’re willing to share!) before 11:59 PM EST on January 7th, 2018!  The winner will be announced on January 8th on my giveaway winners page!

Below you’ll find the full hop list!  Have fun hopping and if this is your first time stopping by my blog, I hope you’ll visit again!  You can subscribe to my blog via the widget on the sidebar or find me on YouTube, Facebook, or Instagram!  Have a great day and Happy New Year!!

That is a great idea for a New Year’s card! I don’t really make resolutions, but my ongoing goals are to organize, and to use more of my stash of supplies!

My crafty resolution is to be more organized so I will be ready for this new year Christmas. I would also practice my pencil colouring and try to make things look more realistic. My third and greatest resolution or more maybe wish is to get my health back. Become a part of the living, I know I will never be cured, but maybe just a little relief, better pain control. So then I can be more active and productive and do the things I love the most.

What a fun New Year’s card! Love that flip between the 7 & 8. As for me, my resolution is to survive my upcoming move in 2 weeks to another state. I will have to reset up my craft room and meet all new crafty friends. Thanks for the inspiration and chance to win! 😀

Thank you for sharing your beautiful New Year’s card, it is so beautiful in the classic white, black and gold. While I don’t ascribe to New Year’s resolutions, I do have goals, one of which is to learn to use alcohol markers.

    Happy New Year!

New follower and can’t wait to take a look back at 2017. Looking forward to seeing your creative ideas this year! I too need to hone my coloring skills! Happy New Year to you!!

I like your idea for a new year’s card. I think all of us “borrow” sometimes. I’m resolving to be more organized in my storage of supplies this year. Maybe it will really happen this year. Thanks

I have several new year’s resolutions, though I am already a bit behind on getting them started because I was out of town for the holidays and having to catch up on life. My most important resolution is to write write write every day. I have several unfinished projects that need to be finished this year. 🙂
