More using the Tim Holtz STAMPtember Exclusive

24 Sep

Hello!!  I’m back with another card using Tim’s STAMPtember exclusive!!  Tim’s set is a must-have for your creepy cute Halloween crafting and it’s a great bundle with stamps and stencils!  If this is your first STAMPtember all month long Simon Says Stamp will collaborate with your favorite stamp companies to produce exclusive sets!  These sets are ONLY available until they sell out and will not be restocked.  Most collaboration sets sell out EVERY year (especially Tim’s) so I highly recommend snagging yours early!

I shared another card earlier today and here’s my second card!

Spark by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Simon Says Stamp

To start I stamped the sad dragon onto a panel of white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I also stamped the dragon on masking paper and fussy cut a mask for him.  I placed the mask over the dragon and then blended wilted violet, seedless preserves, and black soot distress oxide ink over the panel.  Leaving the mask in place I splattered the panel with water a few times and blotted off the excess.  I also splattered it with black soot reinker and Ranger mica spray in brushed pewter.  I let that dry and then placed the included stencil over the panel.  I applied Nuvo glimmer paste in Silver Gem over the panel and then removed the stencil and mask and let it dry completely.

Spark by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Simon Says Stamp

Once the panel was dry I colored the dragon with copic markers.  I also added crystal glaze across his eyes, teeth, belly, and some of his spots for a little more texture and dimension.  Finally I added a sentiment label white heat-embossed on black cardstock to finish the card!  Again definitely out of my usual comfort zone but it was a lot of fun to play with something so different and I hope you enjoyed my forays into more of a mixed media project! 😉

Remember, Tim’s release is only available until it sells out so don’t wait too long! 😉  Thanks so much for visiting, have a fabulous day, and Happy STAMPtember!!
