Christmas Card Challenges #17: Anything Goes

29 Mar

Challenge+17

It’s another Anything Goes week at Christmas Card Challenges and here’s my card!

Jessica #17

I wanted to play along with the Create a Smile Stamps CASe the DT Challenge and I loved this card by Marina!  I created a “background stamp” by stamping the Smiling Snowflakes in random patterns on a piece of watercolor paper with versamark and heat-embossing it with clear powder.  Next I watercolored the piece of paper with Chipped Sapphire and Peacock Feathers distress inks.  The original card used washi tape to create the stripes; but I’ve not had a lot of luck masking with washi tape so I just decided to cut the panel into stripes and adhered them to a 4×5.25 piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock.

To create the sentiment I masked the banner and stamped it onto the panel.  In retrospect it would have been safer to stamp the sentiment BEFORE I adhered the stripes in case I messed up the sentiment but luckily it worked out!  I also stamped the sentiment with versafine on a scrap piece of paper and heat-embossed it with clear powder.  I fussy cut the banner and adhered it to one of the distress ink panels.  To complete the card I added a couple Smarty Pants Blue and Turquoise and Caicos sequins and then adhered the panel to a top-folding A2 card!

I hope you’ll play along this week and look forward to seeing your creations!  Visit the rest of the design team for more inspiration and check out our Facebook page…you just might see your creations there!
