Get Cracking On Christmas!

19 Jul

Good morning!  Today I’m joining my friends Jenn, Chari, Cheiron, and a bunch of other fabulously talented ladies to get cracking on Christmas cards!  We’re hopping along to give you lots of inspiration to get your holiday juices flowing because, you know, Christmas is like right around the corner!! 😉

Today’s card uses a brand new stamp set from the 2018 Winter release from Hero Arts! This set isn’t available quite yet but will be in the next few weeks!  I just LOVE it!  I started by stamping the different elements of my scene with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder.  Then I watercolored the scene using Hero Arts liquid watercolors!  I challenged myself to add in some subtle shading and dimension and I really like how it turned out!  After the paint was totally dry I added a little liquid glue along the top of the houses and trees and added iridescent glitter for a little extra sparkly snow!  I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock, heat-embossed it with white embossing powder, and then trimmed it down to a fishtail banner.  I adhered that to the card with foam mounting tape and that was it! 🙂

To help you get going on your holiday cards I have a little package of gently used holiday stamps and dies to give away to one lucky commenter!  Leave a comment and let me know how many holiday cards you send each year on average before 11:59PM EST Sunday, July 22nd, 2018 and I’ll choose one random winner next week!

Teri is your next stop on the hop and I’ve included the full list below in case you get lost or encounter a broken link!

Ohh this card is so moody, I love it! It has such character.
I mail out about 50 or so cards but I make about 100 so that I have a card when I do gift giving too.

Love thinking about Christmas cards now! I make around 50 each year so I either start early or make them simple. If I start soon them they can be more elaborate! Great idea.

First of all, your card is absolutely breathtaking!! So festive! I feel like I am living in that village when I look at it!! I send about 80 to 85 cards a year. I only make about 50 – when I am on top of things!! I need to start them now!! Maybe this will inspire me!!!

Such a pretty Christmas card! Love the woods look! I’m always looking for new Christmas card ideas as I make & send out over a hundred each year to family & friends. My stamping friends & I have been getting together once a month , each bringing a card for us to do & we have had such fun, along with getting lots if our cards done!

Your card is amazing. I usually send out about 30 cards but I make as much as I could for a card drive. Feels so good to put those in the mail.

What a gorgeous wintery scene! I usually send about 175 – 200 cards. I make each unique if I start early enough. If I don’t then I’ll make multiples, usually 4, of a given design.

I love the dark moody colours of the sky. It really invokes the feeling of winter and cosiness with the cabin. I send out probably about 30-40 Christmas cards and I try to make sure that they are all handmade which means I start about now.

As I get older, the list gets shorter and shorter.
I am down to about 25 to 30 cards. Really regret
the shorter list – but friends have gone to a better place.
Love your winter scene. So peaceful.

Love this! I usually make around 30 – 50 cards if not participating in a card drive, in which case I might make 150 cards. I need to get started earlier this year!
