I shared these cards using the kit over on the Hero Arts blog this weekend:

And today I’m sharing a rainbow-tastic shaker card using several of the add-on products!

You Make My Day by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Hero Arts

I am head over heels for this fun Crafting Border with Frame Fancy Die and I decided to turn it into a shaker card!  To start I die-cut it it with white cardstock and then colored some of the images with copic markers.  I also stamped the sentiment from Knitting onto black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before trimming it down to a thin label.  I added crystal glaze to the paintbrush tips, paint palettes, knitting needles, and scissor blades and set that aside to dry while I worked on the background.

You Make My Day by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Hero Arts

I blended candied apple, squeezed lemonade, cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch, and wilted violet distress oxide inks onto a piece of strathmore bristol cardstock and splattered it with water.  Once everything was totally dry I adhered a sheet of acetate behind the frame and added a layer of foam tape around the edges.  Then I filled the shaker with sparkling clear and iridescent clear sequins, microbeads, and small clear beads and sealed it up with the distress blended background.  I added the sentiment over the acetate and then added accents with my spectrum noir clear sparkle brush.  Finally I finished the card by adding a few sequins to the crafty frame!

To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away one May My Monthly Hero kit as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win!  If you win and have already purchased the kit you will be reimbursed!  Please comment before 11:59PM EST on Sunday, May 12th!  Here’s a list of all the stops on the hop:

Jess, your style is so pretty. The second card left me speechless. All of the details on the die frame are just spectacular. And then a shaker element? You’ve outdone yourself. It is beautiful. It would be hard for me to give this card away, it’s so beautiful.

Your cards are so awesome. The softer partially blended background gives a fabulous base for the adorable envelopes, I totally agree that the crafty background die is fabulous. Your idea to turn it into a shaker makes it that much better. The colored pieces of the die really add that extra punch.
