Spellbinders Modern Essentials Collection

6 Mar

Good morning!  I had the opportunity to play with some of the new dies from the Spellbinders Modern Essentials Collection this week and wanted to share this fun shaker card!

Modern Essentials Collection by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Spellbinders

To start I applied alcohol inks to a piece of yupo paper in shades of orange, red, and pink for a vibrant and bright background.  I left a little white space for interest and splattered a little alcohol on the inks for some texture.  I also die-cut the Die D-Lites Bold Type Congrats Etched die from black cardstock and hot pink cardstock and layered them together.

Next I die-cut the largest dotted and second to largest cutting oval from the Nestabilities Essential Ovals Etched die set from black cardstock to create the window for my shaker.  Then I applied acetate behind the window.  I love how the dots allow more of the alcohol inked panel to peek through!  I filled the shaker with a mix of red, pink, orange, and gold sequins and sealed it with a double layer of foam mounting tape.  Finally I adhered the sentiment on top to finish the card!

And that’s it!  Simple but striking! 😉 Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!
