Sparkle and Shine DT Call and Lawnscaping Challenge #97: Winter-themed Mood Board

13 Jan

Yesterday I was browsing online and found a design team call for a Pretty Pink Posh Challenge Blog called Sparkle and Shine!  Originally I just linked up an old card but the more I thought about it last night I decided that I really wanted to create something with the DT call in mind.  I already intended to create a card today for the most recent Lawn Fawn Lawnscaping Challenge but I decided to turn it into a fun wintery shaker card filled with Pretty Pink Posh sequins!

Anyway, here’s the mood board that was provided as inspiration for the challenge:

And here’s my card:

Lawn Fawn Lawnscaping Challenge #97 www.allthesparkle.comI blended Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac, and Chipped Sapphire distress inks to create the chilly winter sky and then stamped and heat-embossed snowflakes from the Lawn Fawn sets, Critters in the Arctic and Critters in the Snow onto the background.  I added the mug and steam from the Love You a Latte set.  The hedgehogs from the Hedgehugs set were colored with copics and fussy cut.  I glued a few sequins and stars to the background so that they wouldn’t fall down with the majority of the shaker sequins.  I stamped and heat-embossed more snowflakes and the sentiment from the Winter Fox set on top of the acetate for more dimension.  The card is framed with the largest rectangle from the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle dies!

The shaker card is filled with 4mm, 6mm, and 8mm sparkling clear sequins and silver stars from Pretty Pink Posh!  A few months ago Paulina from Pretty Pink Posh put out a call for a guest designer and that was the first time I was brave enough to submit cards to anyone.  Ultimately I didn’t get the guest spot but she was kind enough to share my cards via a video and I’m so grateful to her!  That experience gave me the courage to apply for a few other teams and I feel like I’ve come quite a long way since then!  It would be awesome to be a designer on a challenge blog celebrating Paulina and Pretty Pink Posh but no matter how it turns out I’m super excited that there will be a Pretty Pink Posh Challenge blog soon!

Anyway, thanks for visiting and come back tomorrow for an updated craft room tour! 😉
