Where Creativity Meets C9: Pineapple Perfection (and Here’s the Scoop)

1 Sep

Busy day on the blog!  For the Stamptember release and my first birthday giveaway please scroll down or click here!

Good morning!  The Where Creativity Meets C9 design team is here to featuring the last bundle from the August release of Concord & 9th, Pineapple Perfection and my goodness, I ADORE this pineapple!!

Thinking of You by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Where Creativity Meets C9I decided to go in a very vivid tropical direction for my card and I really love the way it turned out!  I started by stamping the pineapple in antique linen distress ink on watercolor paper with my MISTI.  I left the stamp on my misti so that I could restamp later.  I used the solid stamps to color the inside of the pineapple.  I inked the solid stamps with distress ink, spritzed them with water, and then stamped them on the watercolor paper. I used a lighter shade of distress ink first and then followed it with a darker ink on the edges of the stamp.  I used festive berries, aged mahogany, wilted violet, dusty concord, squeezed lemonade, rusty hinge, dried marigold, spiced marmalade, evergreen bough, and pine needles.  Once I was done with distress inks I placed the paper back inside my MISTI, stamped it again with versamark, and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder.  Then I die-cut it with the coordinating die and also die-cut a second pineapple from metallic gold matte cardstock.

Next I worked on my background.  First I blended wilted violet, aged mahogany, festive berries, rusty hinge, spiced marmalade, and dried marigold distress ink onto a piece of white cardstock.  Then I inked the entire panel with versamark and heat-embossed it with WOW hologram clear sparkle embossing powder to get that gorgeous all over sparkle!  I offset the gold pineapple and adhered it behind the watercolored pineapple with ATG adhesive.  Then I mounted them to the sparkly background panel with foam mounting tape.  Finally I stamped the sentiment from Pineapple Perfection onto black cardstock, heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder, die-cut it with the coordinating die, and adhered it to the card!  I love how over the top glittery and sparkly this card turned out and the ease of watercoloring with that gorgeous pineapple!! 🙂

And finally, our senior pup was having some health issues last week and I wasn’t able to share my Here’s the Scoop card with you so I’m sharing it a few days late!

You're the Cherry On Top of My Sundae by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Where Creativity Meets C9

I went with a little simple watercoloring to allow the stamp to shine!  I stamped it with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I watercolored it with my mission gold watercolors.  I let it dry completely and then added a layer of nuvo crystal glaze to the ice cream scoops and cherry.  While that dried I stamped the stripey background using a discontinued Concord and 9th stamp set onto black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.  Once the glaze was totally dry I stamped the sentiment with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I trimmed down the watercolored panel and adhered it over the black cardstock to finish the card!

Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing day!
