Penny Black Florals

11 Mar

Good morning!  I wanted to share a quick pair of CAS cards that I made in about 15 minutes!!  I’ve long admired all of the gorgeous floral cards that Virginia Lu creates using the Penny Black floral stamps and after she posted this card earlier this week I had to finally get some for myself! 😉 (And thanks to Ellen Hutson for the super speedy shipping!!)

This wasn’t the stamp that Virginia used but it immediately caught my eye when I was browsing through all the Penny Black floral stamps!  I was a little surprised to see how pixelated the stamp was when it arrived but it really resulted in a cool look!  I colored the stamp with zig clean color real brush markers, spritzed it twice with a water bottle, and then stamped it on watercolor paper.  To finish my first card I stamped and heat-embossed a sentiment from Papertrey Ink and then mounted the watercolor panel onto a stitched cardstock base!

My second card took a little longer but not much!  I followed the same process to stamp my flower.  Then I die-cut the word ‘prayer’ 3 times with pink cardstock and once from the watercolor panel.  I stacked the pink die-cuts and glued them together before adding the background die-cut on top.  The pink allows you to easily read the die-cut word and gives it dimension.  I finished the sentiment inside the card!  Again I adhered the finished panel to a stitched cardbase!  Simple but oh so pretty!

I’m really in love with this stamp….and already have some ideas for how to use it next… 😉  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great Friday!
